IES Pérez Galdós na Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

During the first week of February, I had the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing project with a high school in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It was a truly enriching experience, allowing me to observe classes from within and learn from their teachers at the school. Every lesson in the institute’s schedule was interesting, but if I had to highlight something particularly inspiring, it would be Judit’s classes, where she used theatrical methodologies to teach English to her 1st-year secondary students, and Miguel Ángel’s Performing Arts classes, as I had never attended school lessons so deeply connected to theatre. This was especially relevant for me, as I am now leading my own Spanish-language theatre group here.

The IES Pérez Galdós turned out to be a vast and captivating institution, full of valuable insights. I sincerely hope we can establish student exchange programs in the near future so that our students can experience the breathtaking landscapes of the Canary Islands. And, for my theatre group in particular, I hope they can continue growing and exchanging knowledge with the school’s Performing Arts students.

Během prvního únorového týdne jsem měl příležitost zúčastnit se projektu Erasmus+ Job Shadowing na střední škole v Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Byla to skutečně obohacující zkušenost, která mi umožnila nahlédnout do výuky a učit se od tamních učitelů. Každá hodina v rozvrhu této školy byla zajímavá, ale pokud bych měl vyzdvihnout něco obzvlášť inspirativního, byly by to Juditiny hodiny, kde využívala divadelní metody k výuce angličtiny pro studenty 1. ročníku střední školy, a hodiny scénických umění vedené Miguelem Ángelem. Nikdy předtím jsem nezažil školní výuku tak úzce propojenou s divadlem, což pro mě bylo obzvlášť zajímavé, protože nyní vedu vlastní divadelní skupinu ve španělštině na naší škole.

IES Pérez Galdós se ukázala jako velká a fascinující instituce plná cenných poznatků. Upřímně doufám, že se nám v blízké budoucnosti podaří navázat studentské výměnné programy, aby naši studenti mohli zažít úchvatné scenérie Kanárských ostrovů. Také doufám, že moje divadelní skupina bude moci i nadále růst a sdílet své znalosti se studenty scénických umění této školy.

Chtěl bych vyjádřit svou vděčnost Saře a Sheile (koordinátorkám programu Erasmus na hostitelské škole) a Marku Jandricovi (koordinátorovi programu Erasmus na naší škole) za to, že umožnili tyto neuvěřitelné příležitosti.
